In 2001, her relationship with the animal rights movement began when she helped launch Humane USA in NYC, an animal rights political action committee. As a former restauranteur and executive chef she has worked with numerous restaurants on the inclusion of vegan options, “veganizing” over 200 recipes for her clients. With over 30 years of event production experience under her belt, Lisa is producing four in-person events to the DMVD in 2024.

Jonah Goldman is the Co-Founder and Director of Marketing of PLNT Burger. He is a marketing and branding specialist, social entrepreneur, and environmental activist with a background in the natural food industry, regenerative agriculture, compostable packaging and fighting food waste. Jonah studied political science, food policy, and food security at Colorado College before working in the U.S. and abroad with politicians, farmers and a range of companies and organizations to reduce food waste and advance food security and food justice.
Jonah has been passionate about creating positive systemic changes in food systems since he learned about factory farming at age 10. He continues to advocate for a more just and plentiful food system and increased access to plant-based foods through his work with Conscious Capitalism, Adamah, and other strategic initiatives.

Meet Jane M. DeMarines, a seasoned advocate and environmentalist with a 20-year dedication to vegetarianism. As an award-winning executive, fundraiser, and builder of partnerships, Jane is deeply committed to advancing environmental conservation and green community development. She served as the founding Executive Director of the National Alliance of Community Economic Development Associations (NACEDA), where she spearheaded legislative reforms and collaborated closely with U.S. congressional leaders to champion a progressive "Green Policy" agenda.
Jane brings extensive federal agency experience, including significant contributions at the Department of Homeland Security, focusing on climate change-related disaster management. Her career boasts leadership roles in banking, housing, and community development sectors, alongside active participation on advocacy and volunteer organization boards. Based in the Maryland suburbs of Washington D.C., Jane initiated the Green Party within the Citizens’ Association, advocated for urban forest preservation, and testified on environmental legislation at Montgomery County Council hearings.
Currently, Jane continues her mission to enhance environmental sustainability through the Climate Diet Project, demonstrating her unwavering commitment to improving our planet Earth.
Erin DeMarines
Meet Erin DeMarines, an accomplished entrepreneur and chef who has passionately embraced a vegan lifestyle for over 20 years. As both an athlete and culinary innovator, Erin has not only developed her own plant-based recipes but also founded her successful company, E Fit Foods, Inc. Her journey from a love of food and fitness to a thriving career has been marked by a dedication to educating, coaching, and inspiring others toward a plant-based lifestyle.
Currently, Erin collaborates with chefs in Tampa Bay to craft enticing plant-based recipes for restaurants, aiming to make plant-based options more accessible and inclusive. She is also diligently working on her cookbook, sharing her expertise and culinary creations with a wider audience. Additionally, Erin is expanding E Fit Foods, Inc. with exciting new plant protein-focused snacks like the nationally available 3BAR energy bar and the upcoming launch of Plant-Powered Pop in late May.
